Wrong bkdunn

I’m used to getting wrong Brian Dunn emails on my brian.dunn at gmail address, but lately I’m getting wrong bkdunns as well. Most of the wrong brian.dunns are for some guy who was in the Peace Corps in Uganda. It’s kind of sad getting emails from someone else’s grandmother. Here’s my favorite to date: Peterson,

Posted on: 13 February 2008 /

I’ve seen a few more of them. I should just let this go. Oh well. 3. Casablanca — Some great one-liners, but the plot’s unclear. Is Rick the main character? What’s he trying to achieve? Should I be happy at how it ends? Or, like, care? I probably would have liked it better if I

One Final Kauai Vacation Bring-Down and Advance Planning for Future Bring-Downs

Posted on: 20 January 2008 /

Just FYI, there were a couple days of my Kauai vacation that looked (and felt) like this: Even better: it’s at Wal-Mart. Saw this pic again looking through my photos today. Made me feel slightly better about being, you know, not there. Similarly, any time I think about my Utah house, I try to remind

Why is it always cold? How did they survive whatever happened? What are the bloodcults? (*They* sound interesting

New Year, New Robot Friend

Look at him go!: Pros: My carpets get reasonably vacuumed without me doing anything beyond pressing a button. Doesn’t try to talk to the TV. Finds corners I didn’t think it could find. Quietest vacuum cleaner I’ve ever heard. Doesn’t break when it hits a wall. Has a gentle soul. Cons: Seems aloof, doesn’t respond

(Finished reading it during the holidays. Already posted this as a review on Amazon, but heck, it’s an easy way to keep the blog looking up-to-date.) Slaughterhouse Five is one of my five favorite books ever. I keep trying to find something else from Vonnegut that exudes the same energy and necessity of that book.
